I have tested the Valera Swiss Silent Jet Light hairdryer. This is my conclusion:
Blow-drying your hair quickly can be a real pain if the hairdryer is boomingly loud. That’s why I generally tend to air-dry my hair. But with the Valera Swiss Silent Jet Light, things suddenly look different – and for two remarkable reasons: The hairdryer is not only quiet and lightweight, but also dries remarkably gently. But let’s start at the beginning:
Visually, the Valera hairdryer probably resembles every other hairdryer. It is black, simple, and has an unobtrusive design. However, at second glance there is a great special feature: an ergonomic handle that sits really comfortably in the hand – a very pleasant feeling.
Another positive feature is the three different attachments that make the hairdryer suitable for every hair type: diffuser, cool TOUCH ME nozzle, and standard nozzle. Admittedly, changing the nozzles is a bit tricky.
The Valera hairdryer scores two further plus points with its long “tangle-free cord” – a cord that doesn’t get twisted or tangled – and its separate switches for fan and temperature. Thanks to these features, blow-drying is not only easier but also very individual.
At first, I had the feeling that the hairdryer lacked power because I was only used to loud, powerful blowers. But that’s not the case. The Valera hairdryer blow-dried my hair just as quickly as the GHD Helios, for example.
And it was even gentler on the hair because the Valera hairdryer blows air onto the hair at a pleasant temperature and is much less hot than other models – which also makes it shinier.
The Valera Swiss Silent Jet hairdryer is therefore a pleasantly quiet and lightweight hairdryer that sits comfortably in the hand, dries hair quickly and gently, is suitable for all hair types, and – thanks to cool temperatures and ion technology – ensures shine and smoothness. Perfect!

The best quiet hair dryer under 60 dollars
Remington Light & Quiet Hair Dryer
While my test winner scratches the 100-dollar mark, Remington offers a quiet hairdryer for well under 60 dollars.
However, it is not quite as quiet as the Valera hairdryer, but it is a little lighter and has higher temperatures. So if you want to pay less and enjoy working with hot air, this model is a good choice.

I tested the Remington Hairdryer. This is my conclusion:
Personally, I’m a big Remington fan. The price-performance ratio is just right with this brand. Admittedly: The quality of the Remington hairdryer is not as convincing as that of our test winner, but it is also a lot cheaper.
The hairdryer is pleasantly light and sits comfortably in the hand. There are also separate switches for the fan and temperature. However, these are both more intense and louder as well as hotter than the Valera hairdryer. I measured 71 decibels with a decibel app – that’s 3 decibels louder than the test winner.
Positive: There are also two attachments for every hair type. A slim styling nozzle and a diffuser attachment for curls and volume. The cable, on the other hand, is noticeably shorter (at 1.5 meters, only half the length of the Valera cable), but this is absolutely sufficient for private use.
Even if this hairdryer doesn’t score highly in terms of quality, it performs quite well. The hair is dried quickly and the volume is okay.
The selection of temperatures covers a wider range, so you can also dry relatively hot if you prefer. I find the combination of the first temperature setting and the first fan setting very pleasant. Quiet and gentle.
And the result? You may miss a bit of high quality and the odd luxury here, but you still have the ion technology at your disposal, which in combination with the controlled air flow ensures natural smoothness and a beautiful shine.
For this bargain price, the hairdryer is really convincing and definitely the best quiet hair dryer under 60 dollars!

How to recognize a quiet hairdryer
A quiet hairdryer cannot be distinguished visually from louder models, so it is important to look at the product description. The following points will give you an indication of a quiet hairdryer:
Product name: The word “quiet” is often already included in the corresponding product name. Take the Remington Light & Quiet hairdryer, for example. Valera uses the word “silent” for its model. As quiet use is a very positive feature, most brands also ensure that this can be recognized in the name.
Decibel specifications: If the product name says nothing about the volume of the hairdryer, you can look for decibel ratings. A quiet hairdryer is one with a noise level below or around 70 decibels. If you can’t find anything about this in the product description, it helps to look at the reviews of other customers. If you don’t find anything here either, you can assume that the hairdryer is in the 75 to 80-decibel range.
Motor: Does the motor say anything about the volume? Not across the board. A hairdryer can have an AC or DC motor. Both motors are available in quiet and louder versions. The modernity and quality of the motor are much more important here. The newer a model is and the more the brand advertises with “modern technology”, the more likely you are to find models with low decibels, even if they are not declared as “quiet”.

The volume of hair dryers ranges between 65 and 90 decibels. However, a hairdryer should never exceed the limit of 85 decibels, as anything above this can be harmful to your hearing. It is therefore advisable to check the volume of the appliance before buying. The Valera Swiss Silent Jet Light, for example, only works at 68 decibels.
Which is the quietest hairdryer?
One of the quietest hair dryers on the market is the Valera Swiss Silent Jet Light. It impresses with a pleasant noise level of around 68 decibels and is also lightweight and suitable for all hair types.
Is the Dyson hairdryer quiet?
The luxury hairdryer from Dyson has a lot of advantages, but its noise level is not one of them. At around 74 decibels, the Dyson hairdryer is not very loud, but it is also not one of the quietest models on the market.
Conclusion
With the Valera Swiss Silent Jet Light, you can dry your hair quickly and gently, but also with a minimal noise level. The comfortable handle, high quality, and effective ion technology are also very convincing features of this model.
If you want to spend as little money as possible on a quiet hairdryer, then I recommend the Remington Shine Therapy hairdryer. Although it is not quite as high-quality and quiet as the Valera model, it is still convincing.
